Dcoop ends 2024 with a turnover of 1,554.95 million euros
BackOlive oil is, once again, the section with the highest turnover, approaching the one billion mark
The agri-food cooperative Dcoop has increased its turnover by 10.33% compared to 2023 (1,409.26 million euros), boosted by the high oil prices at the beginning and middle of the year, although other activities have also contributed to reaching 1,554.95 million euros, the highest figure in its history.
By sectors, Olive oil had a total turnover of 955.435 million euros in 2024, while in 2023 the turnover amounted to 846.664 million euros. The increase was therefore 12.85%. Dcoop has continued to develop its packaging business to become one of the leading players in the sector.
Table olives closed 2024 with a turnover of 133.740 million euros, a 14.26% increase compared to 2023, when this figure was 117.05 million euros. The price of dressing has been higher than in other years due to the impact of the drought and Dcoop has continued to develop the commercialisation of packaging, which is highly export-oriented.
Dcoop's olive-growing activities as a whole amounted to 1,104.45 million euros in 2024, which represents 71.03% of the cooperative's total.
Supplies, which covers fuel, machinery and spare parts, fertilisers and phytosanitary products, cooperative shops, mobile telephony, etc., for cooperative members, had a turnover of 153.690 million euros last year, while in 2023 it was 151.372 million euros, a rise of 1.53%, which, however, has meant greater activity in the sale of fuel and crop products, which paradoxically and fortunately have fallen in price, which has helped to alleviate the costs of cooperative members. Nevertheless, this activity has consolidated its position as the second section of the Group.
Despite the crisis in the sector, Livestock (pigs, goats, beef cattle, raw materials and veterinary pharmacy) has practically maintained its turnover and the Cereals activity has grown due to the increase in grain production last year. The Goat Milk Industrialisation project has developed more activity in its plants in Lebrija (Seville) and Antequera (Malaga) despite the prices of raw materials. Together, all these interrelated sections totalled 164.40 million euros.
On the other hand, the turnover in Wines will also be higher in 2024 than in 2023. Last year the figure was 94.925 million euros, while in 2023 it was 91.564 million euros. Therefore, the increase in turnover for this section, whose headquarters are in Alcázar de San Juan (Ciudad Real), where it has a must concentrator, wine bottling plants and a distillery, is 3.54%.
As for Nuts, it closed 2024 with a turnover of 37.481 million euros, an increase of 59.75% over the previous year. The incorporation of more members, a higher harvest and improved prices have boosted this activity.
