Dcoop, authorized to export almonds to China
BackThe Dcoop Group has been authorized by China to export almonds, an important step to expand the marketing of Mediterranean almonds to the Asian giant.
On March 31, the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture and the General Administration of Customs of China signed the conditions for importing Spanish almonds for human consumption to China. These conditions are included in a phytosanitary protocol as a result of which, on November 14, Dcoop has been a pioneer in obtaining the registration to export almonds to China.
Dcoop's Dried Fruits Section has had an exponential growth since its creation a few years ago. It has increased the number of members, has signed an industrial alliance with Importaco, has built a large almond splitter in Villarrubia (Córdoba) and has a production of 8,000 tons of almond kernels, which places it at the forefront of the Spanish almond sector.
One of the commercial strategies involves exporting Mediterranean almonds to other countries, placing value on their quality and sustainability. In 2022, Dcoop started its foreign marketing for a value of more than 1.5 million euros, something that is expected to increase significantly during the 2023-2024 campaign, which will undoubtedly contribute to the opening to China, which also joins the first almond exports to India, another economic giant.
